London Friend has a wide range of information on various topics relating to LGBT issues.  Contact details and opening times of GUM (sexual health) clinics are listed below.

Our Library has an extensive range of resources, related to lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people. These include free leaflets and booklets on:

We also provide free condoms and lube.

GUM (Genito Urinary Medicine) Clinics

GUM clinics are free and your confidentiality is protected by law.  If you wish, you can give a false name.  There are over 30 clinics in London and are available to all.  They have differing services and opening times and some will offer same-day HIV testing.  They will also offer Hepatitis A and B vaccinations to gay men.

Most clinics will also have health advisors, who can talk to you about any worries you may have about your sex life or STI's.  Please go to our Useful Links to access other charities that specifically deal with sexual health issues. Here is a list of GUM clinics:

Asymptomatic Screening Clinic
Tues 09:00 to 19:00 for MSM all ages that want a sexual health screen but do not have signs of infection. Appointments are necessary

SW1 Sex Workers Service
Daily Service based at Victoria Clinic for anyone selling sex. tel: 07981 570 461. Leave a text message or voice mail message and we will call you back to arrange a convenient appointment for you.

Daily walk-in service for all young people aged 19 and under. Sexual Health screening and HIV antibody testing between 15:30 and 16:30

Emergency Appointments
Quicker appointments are available for anyone with an obvious infection. Press the 'advice' option on telephone and the select 'Nurse'. A verbal assessment will take place and a doctors appointment will be allocated either on that same day or within the next couple of days.

Persistent (chronic) problem clinic
Foa all people (including men who have sex with men and women who have sex with women) with long term persistent problems (e.g. continuing urethral discomfort despite multiple antibiotic treatment). Appointments require referral from either a doctor or nurse within the generic service.

Psychosexual Counselling Service
Based at Victoria Clinic referral is required from GP or other. tel: 0845 811 66 99 (press option for advice, then select 'Health Advisor') for further details.

Sexual Problem clinic
For men experiencing ejaculation, erection or libido issues. Based at Victoria Clinic, referral from GP and appointments are necessary.

Limited FREE condoms and water based lubricant available to all
